Activists poured porridge and jam on a marble bust of Queen Victoria and sprayed fire extinguishers filled with soup at a large bronze statue of the monarch during two recent protests in Glasgow, Scotland. The group, called This Is Rigged, claimed responsibility for the two protests, which took place inside the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum at noon on March 3, and at George Square at 10:45 am local time on March 4. Encinitas commission selects five sculptures for public art pedestals

Encinitas arts commissioners have recommended five sculptures for temporary public display. This is Fun Guys by Bella Bowman. (City of Encinitas) The city’s arts commissioners have recommended five sculptures, ranging from a cellphone-reading figure to green whimsical creatures, for temporary public display at popular sites around town. After much debate Monday, March 4, the commissioners also agreed to recommend that one sculpture, which wasn’t picked for those five sites, be displayed on a temporary basis at the soon-to-open Pacific View Arts Center.
